DIAMOND REMAINS SILENT - BUT THE BOSS IS LIVE ON THE WEB TONIGHT!
The brief update we got on Sunday suggested that more information would follow on Monday. Well, while there's a lot of info online about what is happening in the US, we're still waiting.
As I said yesterday, this isn't a complaint as such - I imagine that the logistics of getting product from a mostly shut down United States across the Atlantic to a mostly shut down UK are particularly nightmarish, so we're happy to be patient, and we'll tell you when we know something.
UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE!
Bleeding Cool reports that Diamond boss Steve Geppi will be talking to the Comic Book News YouTube channel about comics distribution during the shutdown LIVE at 10.30pm UK time.
THOUGHT BUBBLE CONTINUES TO PLAN FOR NOVEMBER
The fine folk of Thought Bubble are still planning for the week long festival across Yorkshire and the weekend Comic Con here in Harrogate to go ahead in November.
Obviously the convention venue - the Harrogate Convention Centre - is currently a Nightingale Hospital, although it has not, as yet, admitted any patients, and nobody has any idea what the situation with the COVID-19 virus will be at that stage, so they are also working on contingency plans in case the event cannot take place in the week of 9th-15th November.
Full disclosure - I don't work for Thought Bubble and they don't pay me to advertise for them, but I do count some of their staff amongst my friends and I unashamedly love the convention. Also, as the owner of the only comic store in Harrogate, having what I regard as the best comic convention in the country bring maybe 15,000 comics fans to my little town is clearly in my best interests.
However. I am going to remind you that tickets are on sale, and I'm going to suggest that you should buy some. Click the image to go to their website:
Why should you do this? Well, Thought Bubble is, as I said, the best con in the country. You should come to it because you'll love it. Also, ticket sales help fund the thing, and the bills don't stop even if the country does.
And there's no real risk. If you buy a ticket and they are forced to change the date, your ticket will still be valid for the new date - and if you can't make the new date you'll get your money back. Having something to look forward to is a major factor in maintaining my continued sanity. Give yourself something to look forward to!

One of the best cartoon theme songs of the eighties - right up there with mysterious cities of gold - and a good solid action series leaning heavily on Greek mythology.
