OK. We're back in lockdown, you can't come into the shop to browse, so it's time to bring back "What's on the Rack?" To see everything that's in this week, click the link below:

But you might also want some of those recommendations we so like to make, so here are some of our highlights - click the cover images to go to the purchase pages:

Jinny Hex Special #1 Cover. Art by Nick Derrington (c) DC Comics

From the pen of the ever brilliant Magdalene Visaggio, Jinny Hex stars- in her first solo adventure-and she's ready and raring to go!

Bursting out of the pages of Young Justice, this fan-favorite gal is heading back home to take care of some unfinished business! Hoping to take some time off from Multiverse conflict, Jinny reconnects with some old friends and family. But that all goes out the window when a new foe called Three-Eyed Jack transports her town back to the Old West. Now it's up to Jinny to face off with this super-powered gunslinger and save her town! But Jinny's about to learn that some threats are closer to her heart than expected.

Long ago, in the before-times. Before the plague. Before the purge. There was a man called Dan DiDio who ran DC Comics. He had a vision. He called it 5G*. He imagined five generations of DC Heroes spanning across time from the past (the idea was that Wonder Woman was the first of all of them, if I recall correctly) into the future. It was going to be a whole new direction for DC and the DC Universe. The "Next Big Thing" if you will.

Then two terrible things happened.

The whole World was plunged into a global pandemic (which of course is the reason I can't tell you this in person...) and DC Comics' parent company was bought by AT&T. Huge swathes of key people at DC were pretty unceremoniously fired, including the man at the top and the 5G project was shelved.

But creatives don't like to see good work left in a drawer, and accountants don't like to have work they've paid for languishing un-published and not generating revenue. So. For the next two months normal service at DC is suspended and instead we bring you Future State - a peek into the future of the DC heroes we know and love - or their successors...

From the ashes of a terrible war, life blooms anew in Swamp Thing’s image. The remnants of humanity lie in hiding, forever in the shadow of the green god who now rules the planet. When the new avatar of the Green uncovers a stray human, a rebellion is revealed! But this Swamp Thing is no stranger to violent ends, and neither are his creations. Before leaving for parts unknown, Clark Kent entrusted Earth’s safety to his son.

Now, Jonathan Kent is Superman! Top priority for this new Superman: to protect Metropolis. When a new version of Brainiac attacks, Jon takes drastic measures—which result in the Bottle City of Metropolis! But watch out, Jon, because Supergirl is on her way, and she is not happy with your decision.

Meanwhile, in the new bottle city, a new hero has risen. Jake Jordan, the former Manhattan Guardian, came to the City of Tomorrow to start over. But he’s not the only one who wants a new beginning. An anarchist calling herself Honest Mary sees this time of trouble as an opportunity for rebirth—and she’ll tear down the entire city to prove her point.

Does Jake have what it takes to save his new home from disasters both inside and out of the bottle? Superman’s former pal Jimmy Olsen is going to make sure he does!

Finally, the current Mister Miracle, Shilo Norman, is also in the bottle, and he’s looking for a way out! He’d better be careful, though, or he may end up someplace unexpected.

In a bold move that rocks Gotham City, the Magistrate has imprisoned Harley Quinn!

The villain once known as the Scarecrow, now a pawn of the Magistrate, taps into Harley’s knowledge of Gotham’s villains and the Black Mask Gang for his own dark purposes. Crane and his bosses think they have Harley Quinn defeated and her spirit broken, but they are sorely mistaken—and Harley will have her revenge.

Written by rising star writer Stephanie Phillips and drawn by fan-favorite artist Simone Di Meo, the next era of Harley Quinn begins here!

Right then - we're kinda DC heavy this week, but that's our overview for now. Remember, we have to be physically closed, but that doesn't mean we're not open! We're delivering FREE in Harrogate and Knaresborough!
