THE LOCKDOWN COMICS CHALLENGE

OK, so you can't go out. But you can create whole new worlds! Check out our video and get creative - there are prizes for creators in Key Stages 1-5, and for adults. (Full disclosure - we don't know what the  prizes are yet, but there will be many, many, age appropriate comics.)

LET'S MAKE COMICS!

The resolution on this video is not always great and uploading the high res version to this page is proving difficult. We're working on it. In the meantime, a better quality version is available on our Facebook page. Copy and paste this link to go and watch there.

RULES AND STUFF

Remember - don't take this too seriously, it's supposed to be a bit of fun! However, once the lockdown is over our talented panel of expert judges will pick winners. For the sake of simplicity we're breaking contestants down into age groups as follows:

CHILDREN:

School Key Stage 1

School Key Stage 2

School Key Stage 3

TEEN:

School Key Stage 4

School Key Stage 5

ADULT:

Everyone else.

The contest is open to everyone, but you're only eligible for a prize if you've never had a comic published before. (Self publishing counts.)

Our esteemed panel of judges is as follows:

Me and Ian, representing the shop.

Alison, from Harrogate Library,

Writer Antony Johnston (Atomic Blonde, Codename Babushka, The Fuse, Daredevil),

Writer/Artist Rachael Smith (Wired up Wrong, Stand in your Power, The Rabbit, Flimsy's Mewsings)

Writer/Artist Sarah "Milmo" Millman (Heart of Time, NPC Tea)

Chloe, from Thought Bubble

The judges decision will be considered final. I currently have no idea what the prizes will be, but lots of comics, for sure.

THE COMICS YOU MADE!

Check out the awesome creativity!
