Destination Venus Education

Destination Venus is a comics shop. But we are owned and run by a qualified English Teacher with sixteen years of experience in Secondary School classrooms, from Year Seven all the way through to A level. We believe passionately in the power of comics to enthuse and engage students in all kinds of subjects, as well as promoting literacy and reading for pleasure. Workshops

We can come to your school, library or community group and deliver a range of workshops designed to promote literacy and creativity, demonstrating how to tell stories using the medium of comics.

Participants will learn how to create memorable characters, how to structure a story - fictional or factual - and how to present that story in a way that engages readers. And don't worry, while we love to work with talented artists, no artistic skills are required in order to take part.

Our comics workshops can be tailored to work with every subject - we can use storytelling to promote English and Literacy, but also History, Science, even Mathematics!

English Tutoring

We can also provide traditional English Language and English Literature tutoring services for students in years seven to thirteen.

Prices start at just £25.00 per hour session, with no extra charge for marking or preparation, so you can be sure that there are no hidden fees. We have worked with students of all abilities and achieved excellent results.
