"What's on the Rack?" Issue #29: Titles for New Comic Book Day 21st July 2021

It's the start of another week! Also, the rules around Covid have changed, and so this seems an appropriate moment to update you all on the policy at Destination Venus.

With cases of Covid-19 continuing to rise staff at Destination Venus will continue to wear face coverings in store to protect our customers. We respectfully request that all customers who can wear a face covering continue to do so when visiting us.

We will also continue to provide hand sanitiser, keep the shop space well ventilated and encourage all customers to maintain a distance of 2m from each other when shopping with us. Your health, safety and wellbeing are important to us - and we're not out of the woods yet...

OK. Serious bit over - it's a really cool rack this week. You can

or just scroll down to see some of our highlights:

BEYOND THE BREACH #1

Life sucks for Vanessa. Her mother just died and her boyfriend is cheating on her (with her own sister!). To clear her mind, Vanessa is taking the California road-trip that she's been dreaming about for years.

Her postcard-perfect drive through old growth forests quickly turns when THE BREACH hits. A bizarre anomaly in the sky plunges California into a nightmare-world populated with strange, extra-dimensional creatures. Now Vanessa, along with Dougie, an orphaned child, and Kai, a strange, fuzzball of a beast, must fight to survive if they ever hope to make it back home. If there's even a home to return to.

Written by Ed Brisson (Uncanny X-Men, Ghost Rider, Old Man Logan) and illustrated by Damian Couceiro (Old Man Logan, Iron Fist, X-Force), BEYOND THE BREACH is a fantastical sci-fi road trip adventure about perseverance and finding family in unexpected places.

BLUE & GOLD #1

Desperate to regain the spotlight, Booster Gold looks to attract the public's (and Justice League's) attention the same way any washed-up, second-rate hero would-social media. The not-so-tech-savvy hero from the 25th century enlists the help of his best friend, Blue Beetle, who possesses both the money and the brains to help his old pal navigate the scary world of internet influencers. Watch out, evildoers, our heroes are live and online! Don't miss Dan Jurgens's triumphant return to Booster Gold with the help of all-star artist Ryan Sook (Legion of Super-Heroes), telling a tale filled with heart and maybe even redemption for DC's two favourite underdogs!

CANTO III: LIONHEARTED #1
