BREAKING NEWS!!!!! THOUGHT BUBBLE POSTPONED UNTIL 2021 - DIGITAL CON TO BE HELD IN NOVEMBER
We literally just got this information, and there is still much organisation and working out the details going on behind the scenes, but our wonderful friends at Thought Bubble have made the decision that a comic convention in November this year is just not a practical possibility.
It must have been a hard decision, and we just want to give them a massive shout out. They are an exceptional team of very, very good people and they're deserving of our support. Obviously we'll keep you posted as things develop.
NEGAN LIVES!
We really do need to talk about how amazing Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard are. Kirkman in particular has a history of pulling surprise events in support of comics stores. Well, in response to the difficulties that many of us in the comics retail community have been experiencing as a result of the COVID-19 lockdown, the team are back at it.
Negan Lives #1 will only be available in comic stores. We're not sure how many copies we'll be able to get, so were going to give priority to customers who were had The Walking Dead on their pull list. After that it'll be first come first served, so if you want a copy, let us know and we'll see what we can do.
We should be clear - the comic will be free. They're not charging us for it, and we won't charge you. This isn't the first time that Kirkman has spent some of his Walking Dead money to support comic stores, and we want to be very, very vocal about how much we appreciate his support.
G. WILLOW WILSON PENS NEW MS MARVEL STORY THAT YOU CAN READ FOR FREE!
G. Willow Wilson is one of our favourite writers, and is a co-creator of Kamala Khan, the young woman who inherited the mantle of Ms Marvel when Carol Danvers became Captain Marvel.
Wilson was the regular writer on Ms Marvel for a long time, but moved on a year or so ago. But she's returned to the character with a prose story celebrating essential workers in these pandemic times entitled Late Spring.

DC GOES BIG ON PODCASTS
Marvel Comics has been in the podcasting game for some time, publishing audio content that is both dramatic (the two Wolverine stories in particular were very impressive) and discussion based.
Now DC is jumping on the bandwagon, with a series of audio dramas exclusive to Spotify.
After a long time of playing it safe, DC really does seem to be making an effort to shake things up.
FREE COMIC BOOK DAY BECOMES FREE COMIC BOOK SUMMER!
Free Comic Book Day is generally held on the first Saturday in May. Clearly this year, that didn't happen because on the first Saturday in May the entire world was locked down.
So. The organisers of FCBD put their heads together and now the comics intended to drop on Free Comic Book Day will now become available between July 15th and September 9th 2020. Retailers will be have some leeway regarding what we give away when (normally there's a strict embargo on releasing anything before the appointed day) so we'll let you know what we've got and when you can get it as and when we know.
