TRAVEL TO DIVOC-91 AS COMICS CREATORS TEAM UP TO TEACH ABOUT COVID-19
15% of the Earth's young people are whisked off to the planet of Divoc-91 to isolate them from an extinction level pandemic. That's the premise of a nine part satirical comic coming to WebToons this month.
Produced by Dr Bella Starling of the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and Sara Kenney of Wowbagger Productions, in association with the UK Academy of Medical Sciences, this series has brought together a wealth of comics creating talent - including the UK Comics Laureate Hannah Berry, Nick Brokenshire, Sara Kenney and Charlie "The Walking Dead" Adlard.
The idea is to tell a SciFi story about an intergalactic pandemic which will educate people about the threats faced closer to home regarding our current, most up-to-date understanding of the COVID-19 pandemic. Every chapter of Planet DIVOC-91 will include supplemental material to help inform readers about COVID-91, from scientific editorials to pieces of art and music inspired by the many ways people have been affected by the pandemic.
