MAJOR PUBLISHERS SUSPEND NEW COMICS
We already knew that there would be no new print comics for the forseeable. Now the major publishers of US comics have confirmed that they will not release new content digitally either, until the print version is also available.
As a retailer of print comics this comes as something of a relief - DC had said they were going ahead with digital releases. I can appreciate it's a pain for a lot of fans though.
GIFT VOUCHERS STILL AVAILABLE
We don't know what will happen when new comics are released again, but there is a possibility that a lot of stuff will drop at once. Insulate yourself against a big future bill by paying for some of it in advance. (And yes, I make no bones about it - it helps me too.)
When buying gift vouchers remember to select "Free pick up in store" as your shipping option - even if you want us to mail them out to you, we'll pay for the stamp!
Huge thanks to everyone who is supporting us in this way.
VIRAL MUSIC
You've probably seen this, but it made me smile - I love Les Miserables.
CULTURE
Today's poem -
Solitude
Lord Byron
To sit on rocks, to muse o'er flood and fell, To slowly trace the forest's shady scene, Where things that own not man's dominion dwell, And mortal foot hath ne'er or rarely been; To climb the trackless mountain all unseen, With the wild flock that never needs a fold; Alone o'er steeps and foaming falls to lean; This is not solitude, 'tis but to hold Converse with Nature's charms, and view her stores unrolled. But midst the crowd, the hurry, the shock of men, To hear, to see, to feel and to possess, And roam alone, the world's tired denizen, With none who bless us, none whom we can bless; Minions of splendour shrinking from distress! None that, with kindred consciousness endued, If we were not, would seem to smile the less Of all the flattered, followed, sought and sued; This is to be alone; this, this is solitude!
And that's it for today! See you tomorrow - until then, be kind to yourself, be kind to everybody else, stay safe, and stay home if you possibly can.
